CC1352

Supported

Thread Certified

The CC1352 device is part of the SimpleLink™ microcontroller (MCU) platform which consists of Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® low energy, Sub-1 GHz, Thread, ZigBee, 802.15.4 and host MCUs, which all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single core software development kit (SDK) and rich tool set. A one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform enables you to add any combination of the portfolio's devices into your design, allowing 100 percent code reuse when your design requirements change. For more information, visit www.ti.com/simplelink. This LaunchPad kit supports programming and debugging from Code Composer Studio™ and IAR Embedded Workbench® integrated development environments (IDEs).

Kickstart your development in minutes from the TI resource explorer with Project.0. Using CCS Cloud, part of TI's cloud based tools, Project.0 can be built and downloaded to the LaunchPad kit with just a web browser. Project.0 is a fully functional peripheral application allowing control of the LaunchPad kit's LEDs from the TI SimpleLink Starter app or any compatible device supporting Bluetooth low energy connectivity. The project also demonstrates the flexibility of TI RTOS and utilizes the LaunchPad kit's onboard USB serial port to display diagnostic information about the Bluetooth low energy connection.

CC2538

Supported

Thread Certified

The CC2538 is a wireless microcontroller System-on-Chip (SoC) for Thread, ZigBee, and IEEE 802.15.4 applications. The device combines a powerful ARM Cortex-M3-based MCU system with up to 32KB on-chip RAM and up to 512KB on-chip flash with a robust IEEE 802.15.4 radio. This enables the device to handle complex network stacks with security, demanding applications, and over-the-air download. Thirty-two GPIOs and serial peripherals enable simple connections to the rest of the board. The powerful hardware security accelerators enable quick and efficient authentication and encryption while leaving the CPU free to handle application tasks. The multiple low-power modes with retention enable quick startup from sleep and minimum energy spent to perform periodic tasks. For a smooth development, the CC2538xFnn includes a powerful debugging system and a comprehensive driver library. To reduce the application flash footprint, CC2538xFnn ROM includes a utility function library and a serial boot loader.

OpenThread running on the CC2538 is a Thread Certified Component.

Zolertia Firefly

The Firefly and RE-Mote platforms are based on the TI CC2538 SoC.

CC2650

The CC2650 device is a member of the CC26xx family of cost-effective, ultralow power, 2.4-GHz RF devices. Very low active RF and MCU current and low-power mode current consumption provide excellent battery lifetime and allow for operation on small coin cell batteries and in energy-harvesting applications.

The CC2650 device contains a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor that runs at 48 MHz as the main processor and a rich peripheral feature set that includes a unique ultralow power sensor controller. This sensor controller is ideal for interfacing external sensors and for collecting analog and digital data autonomously while the rest of the system is in sleep mode. Thus, the CC2650 device is ideal for applications within a whole range of products including industrial, consumer electronics, and medical.

The Bluetooth Low Energy controller and the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC are embedded into ROM and are partly running on a separate ARM Cortex-M0 processor. This architecture improves overall system performance and power consumption and frees up flash memory for the application.

With the CC26x2 SDK you can kick start your development of Thread-based application for the CC2652 wireless MCU. The SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK includes tools, application examples, documentation and source code of the Thread 1.1 networking protocol based on openthread. Example applications such as a door lock, window shades, thermostat and temperature sensor applications, based on Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) running atop of the Thread networking stack are released to kick-start the SW design of end equipment sets. Additionally, the SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK includes a Command-Line Interface (CLI) application and a Network Co-Processor (NCP) implementation, which can be used in combination with a host Thread border-router agent software as a whole Thread border router reference solution.

OpenThread running on the CC2652 is a Thread Certified Component.
