Texas Instruments supports OpenThread with their SimpleLink family of wireless MCUs and actively contributes to the ongoing development of OpenThread.
CC2340R5 / CC2340R53
The CC2340R5 and CC2340R53 devices are part of the Texas Instruments SimpleLink™ F3 2.4 GHz wireless microcontroller (MCU) family, featuring an Arm® Cortex®-M0+ core, 512 KB flash, 36 KB (CC2340R5) or 64 KB (CC2340R53) RAM, ultra-low standby current, and up to +8 dBm TX output power. They support IEEE 802.15.4, Thread, Zigbee®, and Bluetooth® Low Energy protocols.
In OpenThread deployments, the CC2340R5 (36 KB RAM) is supported as a Radio
Co-Processor (RCP) alongside an OpenThread Border Router (ot-br-posix) or host
processor, while the CC2340R53 (64 KB RAM) additionally supports Full Thread
Device (FTD), Minimal Thread Device (MTD), and Network Co-Processor (NCP) roles.
You can evaluate and develop OpenThread firmware using the LP-EM-CC2340R5 and
LP-EM-CC2340R53 LaunchPad™ development kits, an LP-XDS110ET debug probe, the
SimpleLink Low Power F3 SDK, and the ot-ti platform repository (supporting the
Thread 1.4 specification).
OpenThread running on the CC2340R5 / CC2340R53 is a Thread Certified Component.

CC2745R10-Q1 / CC2755R10 / CC2755P10
The CC2745R10-Q1, CC2755R10, and CC2755P10 wireless MCUs belong to the SimpleLink™ F3 CC27xx family, built around an Arm® Cortex®-M33 processor with 1 MB on-chip flash, a dedicated Hardware Security Module (HSM), and multiprotocol 2.4 GHz radio support for Thread, Matter, Zigbee®, and Bluetooth® Low Energy. The CC2745R10-Q1 is automotive-grade (AEC-Q100 qualified) with CAN-FD support, while the CC2755R10 (+10 dBm TX) and CC2755P10 (up to +20 dBm TX with integrated high-power amplifier) include an integrated Edge AI Neural Processing Unit (NPU).
The CC27xx family supports all OpenThread device roles—Full Thread Device
(FTD), Minimal Thread Device (MTD), Radio Co-Processor (RCP), and Network
Co-Processor (NCP), as well as a combined Thread RCP and BLE Controller over a
shared UART (Serial MUX)—using the LP-EM-CC2745R10-Q1 LaunchPad™ Evaluation
Module, the SimpleLink Low Power F3 SDK, and the ot-ti platform repository
(supporting the Thread 1.4 specification).
OpenThread running on the CC27xx family is a Thread Certified Component.

CC2652
The CC2652 devices are part of the SimpleLink™ microcontroller (MCU) platform which consists of Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® low energy, Sub-1 GHz, Thread, ZigBee, 802.15.4 and host MCUs, which all share a common, easy-to-use development environment with a single core software development kit (SDK) and rich tool set. A one-time integration of the SimpleLink platform enables you to add any combination of the portfolio’s devices into your design, allowing 100 percent code reuse when your design requirements change. For more information, visit www.ti.com/simplelink. This LaunchPad kit supports programming and debugging from Code Composer Studio™ and IAR Embedded Workbench® integrated development environments (IDEs).
With the CC26x2 SDK you can kick start your development of Thread-based application for the CC2652 wireless MCU. The SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK includes tools, application examples, documentation and source code of the Thread 1.1 networking protocol based on openthread. Example applications such as a door lock, window shades, thermostat and temperature sensor applications, based on Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) running atop of the Thread networking stack are released to kick-start the SW design of end equipment sets. Additionally, the SimpleLink CC26x2 SDK includes a Command-Line Interface (CLI) application and a Network Co-Processor (NCP) implementation, which can be used in combination with a host Thread border-router agent software as a whole Thread border router reference solution.
OpenThread running on the CC2652 is a Thread Certified Component.
